The workshop's 3,451 m2 floor area is primarily used as an incubation and acceleration platform, which provides three major advantages for youth from Hong Kong to start businesses in Shenzhen. First, it is easily accessible, being only 2.4 km from the Futian Port and 3.1 km from the Huanggang Port. Second, it has extensive technical and human resource cooperation with Hong Kong universities. The teams of the enterprises established at the site include graduates and professors from the Hong Kong University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, City University of Hong Kong, and Hong Kong Baptist University as well as returned students from Europe, the United States, and Australia. Third, by combining resources and services from diverse sources, it offers the most complete service system and offers specialized services for unique teams at different phases, including entrepreneurship mentorship, policy explanation, hiring, loan financing, publicity and promotion, market expansion, talent housing, urban inclusion, communication, and socializing. The workshop has now incubated 23 teams in the fields of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, medical technology, new materials, etc. The workshop has been recognized as a National Mass Innovation Space and offers youth from Hong Kong who is looking to launch businesses in Shenzhen a pioneering demonstration model.

While serving the innovation and entrepreneurial efforts of youth from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, the workshop also provides a gateway for youth from Hong Kong and Macao to learn about the development, growth, exchange, and service in Mainland. First, it regularly holds research and study activities for youth from Hong Kong and Macao, serves as one of the research bases, and organizes trips to Futian to help them understand the developments of the Mainland. Second, a special internship program is implemented for youth from Hong Kong and Macao youth, offering them internship opportunities during winter and summer breaks and providing them with internship subsidies and temporary housing. Third, a one-stop service division is established for Hong Kong and Macao youth interested in entrepreneurship and employment. This division provides free agent services, such as employment and entrepreneurship mentorship, industrial and commercial registration, and opening of corporate accounts for youth coming to Shenzhen from Hong Kong and Macao for development.
