Dongguan inaugurates innovation center in Hetao

The Guanshen (Hetao) Innovation Center was inaugurated April 18 at the Shenzhen Park of Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone, marking a significant step by Dongguan City to promote coordinated industrial development and technological innovation with Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

Located on the fifth floor of the Top Ascent Logistics Building, the center serves as a comprehensive service platform integrating Dongguan city promotion, talent recruitment, industrial innovation collaboration, technology project incubation, and investment acceleration.

Approximately 50% of the center’s 3,000-square-meter floor area is dedicated to shared spaces — such as meeting rooms, roadshow halls, reception areas, negotiation rooms, leisure terraces, and coffee bars — supporting multifaceted functions including roadshows, project launches, and promotional and exchange events.

Prior to the inauguration, the center had already attracted 10 strategic partners, including PricewaterhouseCoopers, Shenzhen Capital Group, and Haitong Securities, forming an innovative service network. This network provides one-stop services such as business registration, legal assistance, intellectual property services, policy guidance, marketing promotion, community empowerment, and investment and financing matchmaking.

Currently, the center has nearly 20 projects in reserve, covering fields such as artificial intelligence, low-altitude economy, and medical devices. During the ceremony, representatives of 10 projects signed strategic partnership agreements with the center, expressing their intention to establish operations there.

The ceremony also saw the launch of three additional Dongguan service platforms: the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Dongguan) Enterprises’ Overseas Business Empowerment Center, the Dongguan Greater Bay Area Liaison Office, and the Songshan Lake High-level Talent Service Shenzhen Station. These initiatives aim to leverage the resources and advantages of Shenzhen and Hong Kong, fostering a development pattern of scientific research in Hong Kong, industrial transformation in Shenzhen, and smart manufacturing in Dongguan.
