New Huanggang Checkpoint

Huanggang Checkpoint is the first land checkpoint in China that implemented24－hour border crossing inspections．

Located at the southern end of Futian District， and facing the Lok Ma Chau of New Territories in Hong Kong oppositetheShenzhen River， Huanggang Checkpoint is connected with Hong Kong through the Huanggang－Lok Ma Chau BridgeovertheShenzhen River．  

As perthe work plan of Shenzhen Entry and Exit Port Office for theyear2021， Shenzhen will speed upthereconstruction of Huanggang Checkpoint and initiate the engineering work on the Passenger Clearance Building． Under themechanism of onelocation， twoinspections， the authorities will introduceaninnovative inspection mode ofjointinspection andsingle approval．

The design of the new Huanggang Checkpointhas takenadvantage of its geographical location，connectingit with Futian Checkpoint through an ecological corridor．In addition， it has agreen square，agreen axis for sightseeing， arooftopterrace， and other public spaces．  

The new passenger clearance building will be completedbytheend of2022． In the future， the checkpoint will bepassenger－onlyunder themechanism of onelocation， twoinspections．With the checkpoint becoming passenger－only， the inspection of cargo vehicles willend，freeing500，000 square meters of land area fortheShenzhensectionofthe cooperation zone．

The reconstruction project of Huanggang Checkpointbegan on June23，2020． The old building wasdemolished，a temporary inspection site wasset up and work on the comprehensiveservice building of the new checkpointstarted．

Thecheckpoint will be a new transport hub thatwillconnect with two Metrolines and three intercity rails．
